Gettysburg Brass Band Festival

GETTYSBURG BRASS BAND FESTIVAL
June 5-9,2024

Since 1998, the historic town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has been the home of the Gettysburg Brass Band Festival. Some 3000 listeners from the Mid-Atlantic United States attend the event to enjoy brass bands from seven states and Washington, D.C.

The roster of musical ensembles taking part in 2024 include brass bands, community ensembles, and jazz groups as well as a host of other activities that include a benefit golf tournament, community picnic, and benefit jazz concert with a catered dinner.

Ben Jones, GBBF president and head of the organizing team, says: “Our festival provides a ‘life after school’ experience for students in brass bands and the opportunity to perform after graduation. As well, listening to brass band musicians is a great motivation for audiences to visit Gettysburg, and the surrounding area and military park. There’s a special Taps* tribute at dusk, set around the Gettysburg National Military Park, bringing a glorious day of music to a fitting conclusion.”
