Gettysburg National Military Park’s 2026 Living History Program brings the stories of the Battle of Gettysburg to life through a season of immersive encampments, demonstrations, and interpretive programs across the battlefield. From artillery demonstrations and soldier encampments to firsthand accounts of daily military life, these weekend programs offer visitors a chance to experience history in the places where it unfolded during the Civil War.
Programs take place throughout Gettysburg National Military Park at key battlefield locations including the Pennsylvania Memorial, Pitzer Woods, and Spangler’s Spring. Living historians representing Union and Confederate units share the experiences of the soldiers who fought at Gettysburg, demonstrating camp life, military equipment, battlefield tactics, and the challenges faced by armies during the summer of 1863. Each weekend features different units and presentations, creating opportunities for both first-time visitors and returning history enthusiasts to explore new aspects of the battle and its lasting legacy.
