Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center presents Gettysburg: One Woman’s War on Monday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Valentine Hall Auditorium (61 Seminary Ridge) on the campus of United Lutheran Seminary.
This compelling one-woman dramatization, performed by professional actress Michèle LaRue, brings to life the story of Mary Bowman—a young Gettysburg wife and mother—offering a powerful, personal perspective on the Civil War. Audiences are transported to July 1, 1863, as the battle begins, and follow the emotional journey through its aftermath and lasting impact.
Adapted from Elsie Singmaster’s Gettysburg: Stories of the Red Harvest and the Aftermath, the performance explores themes of loss, resilience, and healing, while highlighting the often-overlooked experiences of women during the war.
