Homeschool families are invited to a maple sugaring event on Tuesday, March 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This festival-style program offers hands-on activities designed to supplement homeschool curriculum while getting learners of all ages outdoors for a morning of fun and education.
Throughout the event, participants will explore the history of maple sugaring from Indigenous traditions to early settlers, experience an interactive sugar camp, and learn how modern hobbyists make syrup using today’s tools and technology. Guided campus walks will teach families how to identify maple trees, even in winter, while the Great Pancake Flip adds a dash of friendly competition. Guests can also sample maple-inspired treats, discover new recipes, enjoy a maple scavenger hunt along the Children’s Trail, and explore the Nature Classroom, which will remain open until 2:00 p.m.
The schedule is subject to change, and families are encouraged to stop by throughout the morning to enjoy this engaging seasonal learning experience.
