Military Weekend takes place July 24 through July 26, with event hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 24 and 25, and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on July 26. This annual immersive military history event is held on the grounds of the World War II American Experience Museum.
The weekend features more than 100 historic military vehicles on display, living history encampments representing conflicts from World War I through modern engagements, and live vehicle, artillery, and weapons demonstrations. Visitors can experience tank and historic vehicle rides, including Jeeps, Halftracks, trucks, and Sherman tanks. The event also includes indoor and outdoor militaria and military vehicle vendors, author meet-and-greets and book signings, and opportunities to meet veterans and reenactors. Designed as a family-friendly, hands-on educational experience, the weekend concludes with a Saturday evening BBQ and live military-era rock concert.
Military Weekend represents education, preservation, innovation, and celebration by showcasing authentic military vehicles, equipment, and living history demonstrations while highlighting the evolution of military technology from World War I to the present. Through interactive experiences, personal stories, and veteran participation, the event honors the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans and educates future generations on how military innovation has shaped history and continues to influence the modern world.
