Music, Memories, & the Civilian Experience at The Barn Resort

The Barn Resort hosts Music, Memories, & the Civilian Experience on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 75 Cunningham Road, Gettysburg. This engaging, family-friendly evening brings the Civil War homefront to life.

Visitors step back to the 1860s to explore interactive living history stations that highlight how Gettysburg’s civilians lived, worked, and cared for their families during one of the most pivotal moments in American history. Children take part in hands-on activities and period-inspired games, while guests of all ages experience the sights, sounds, and stories of a community shaped by war.

The event features live, open-fire cooking demonstrations by Rodney Cromeans, complete with samples, as well as authentic period music performed by Gregory and the Poor Souls from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Living history setups and demonstrations begin at 4:00 p.m.

Blending education with immersive experiences, this unique program highlights the resilience, traditions, and daily lives of Gettysburg’s civilian population—offering a meaningful look at history beyond the battlefield.
