Mystery Dinner: Gangsters & Gatsbys

Guests are invited to an evening of intrigue and suspense at Battlefield Bed and Breakfast during the 1920s–themed mystery dinner party, Gangsters & Gatsbys. This immersive experience transports attendees to the era of Prohibition, where mobsters, flappers, and secrets collide over an evening of mystery, deception, and fine dining.

Guests are encouraged to dress as mobsters or flappers and step fully into the world of the Roaring Twenties while working to solve a thrilling mystery throughout the night. The evening promises unexpected twists, hidden motives, and dramatic revelations as guests enjoy a delicious meal and uncover the secrets lurking beneath the glamour. While costumes are not required, dressing the part adds to the fun and energy of the experience.

The mystery begins over appetizers and unfolds through multiple rounds that correspond with each course of the four-course dinner. As overlapping storylines emerge, guests will gather clues, exchange information, and attempt to solve the case before the detective reveals the truth—or before the culprit manages to escape.

Each $99 ticket includes a four-course dinner and the full mystery entertainment experience. All attendees are assigned roles within the mystery, with the option to request in advance either a primary, highly interactive role or a more low-profile character.

An optional Friday evening Sleuth Social will take place at 5:00 p.m. and may be added for an additional $25. Overnight guests of Battlefield Bed and Breakfast may attend the social hour at no additional charge. Gangsters & Gatsbys is set in the heart of Prohibition-era Chicago, where a volatile mob war simmers between the South Side Gangsters and the Northern Chicago Mob Outfit. Rival crime bosses Hal Sapone and Beanie O’Dannon have reached a fragile truce, agreeing to share bootlegging operations in a desperate attempt to stabilize their criminal empires. While gang members from both sides have recently been seen together in speakeasies across the city, the tension remains thick and dangerous. The uneasy peace has been held together by new romantic entanglements that further intertwine the rival factions.
