Orchard Explorers: Where Curiosity Takes Root

Orchard Explorers: Where Curiosity Takes Root brings hands-on farm education to Hollabaugh Bros. Fruit Farm & Market on Biglerville Road in Biglerville. Designed for ages 8–12, this new weekly learning series gives older kids an opportunity to explore agriculture, food, nature, and farm life through engaging, interactive experiences. While created with older children in mind, participants of all ages are welcome to join the fun.

Each one-hour session begins at 9 a.m. and features a different orchard or farm-related topic, combining hands-on activities, experiments, and real-world learning. The program encourages curiosity and discovery while helping children build a deeper connection to the land, seasonal crops, and the journey from farm to table.

The 2026 summer series includes Blueberries on July 16, Soil and Root Crops on July 23, a topic to be announced on July 30, and Apples on August 6. Every session offers fresh opportunities to investigate how food grows, learn about the natural environment, and experience life on a working farm in Adams County.

Hosted at Hollabaugh Bros. Fruit Farm & Market in Biglerville, Orchard Explorers makes a great educational summer activity for families throughout the Gettysburg region and south-central PA. Admission is $10 per participant, providing an affordable way to experience hands-on agricultural learning in a welcoming farm setting.
