Resurrecting Abraham Lincoln’s ‘Honored Dead’ of the Gettysburg National Cemetery

The Gettysburg National Cemetery—final resting place of more than 3,500 Union soldiers—stands today as one of the most solemn sites in Gettysburg. In this program, Dr. Jim Christian brings the stories behind those headstones to life. Drawing from his extensive statistical analysis of the named graves, he shares a series of powerful accounts of the men who never returned home.

Dr. Christian, author of Abraham Lincoln’s Honored Dead at the Gettysburg National Cemetery, will also reveal the research methods that allowed him to share corrected gravestone names and recover the true identities of hundreds of fallen soldiers.
