Adams County Library System presents Songs and Stories of the American Revolution on Thursday, July 30 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Gettysburg Recreation Park Amphitheater. This family-friendly performance program features musician and storyteller Matthew Dodd, who transports audiences back to the days of Colonial America and the Revolutionary War through period music and engaging historical storytelling.
Set in the scenic outdoor amphitheater at Gettysburg Rec Park, the program combines rousing songs from the Revolutionary era with stories that place the music into historical context. Dodd brings the spirit of 1776 to life through performances that connect audiences with the experiences, struggles, and celebrations surrounding America’s founding period. The event offers an entertaining and educational evening for children, teens, adults, and history enthusiasts visiting Gettysburg and Adams County.
Hosted by the Adams County Library System, the program blends live performance with historical education in one of the region’s most recognizable historic communities. The outdoor setting and interactive presentation make the event an engaging addition to summer activities and Revolutionary-era programming in Gettysburg.
