Spangler Rock, Talk, and Walk with Britt Isenberg

The program begins with a clear introduction to basic geology and traces more than 500 million years of geological history in about 15 minutes. Britt Isenberg then leads participants on a short, hands-on walk exploring how rock formations, terrain, and natural features influenced the events of July 1863.

By connecting deep geological history with the human story of the Battle of Gettysburg, the program reveals how the landscape shaped troop movements, battlefield conditions, and the course of the fighting. The walk covers less than half a mile across flat but mixed surfaces, including grass, dirt, and rock.

Participants should wear sturdy footwear and dress for outdoor conditions. Ticket holders may drive directly to the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital, where on-site parking is available.
