The Bushwhacker with Tim Smith

On June 23, 1863, Franklin Township resident Henry Hahn shot and killed Eli Amick of the 14th Virginia Cavalry. Amick was the first soldier killed in Adams County during the Gettysburg Campaign.

In the aftermath of the incident, Henry Hahn was to be forever known among locals as “the Bushwhacker.”

Join historian Timothy H. Smith as he tells the full story of the Cashtown Incident on June 21st at 11 a.m.

This free public program will be held in the Battlefield Overlook Event Center.
