The Lincoln Forum Symposium

The Lincoln Forum hosts its 31st Annual Symposium from November 15–17, 2026, at the Wyndham Gettysburg, bringing together historians, scholars, and Lincoln enthusiasts for three days of presentations, panel discussions, and conversations exploring Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War, and their lasting influence on American history.

This year’s program features distinguished speakers, including Harold Holzer, Edna Greene Medford, James Oakes, Walter Stahr, and Matthew Pinsker. Special highlights include actor Sam Waterston in conversation with Harold Holzer, the presentation of the Lincoln in Film Award, an all-author book signing, and a battlefield tour for first-time attendees.

Sessions examine Lincoln’s leadership, emancipation, the Declaration of Independence, Civil War history, and the evolving scholarship surrounding the nation’s 16th president. The symposium also includes breakout discussions, scholarship presentations, and the annual Lincoln Forum Awards.

Programming begins Sunday, November 15, at 1 p.m. with registration, followed by an evening dinner and opening presentation. Sessions continue Monday, November 16, and Tuesday, November 17, with scheduled lectures, discussions, and special events.

The schedule is subject to change.
