Adams County Library in Gettysburg presents The Same Principle Lives in Us: People of African Descent in the American Revolution, a program taking place in the Third Floor Meeting Room on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 6:00–7:00 PM.
The program explores how people of African descent challenged the ideals of the American Revolution. Through the stories of figures such as Phillis Wheatley and James Forten, the program highlights how their words and actions brought questions of equality to the forefront of the fight for independence.
Registration is required and will close at 6:00 PM on April 30, 2026.
