On June 24, 1775, dozens of young men gathered at Samuel Gettys’ tavern to enlist—marching from this small frontier community to join George Washington and the Continental Army. Some never returned home. Historian Ken Gavin tells the stories of these soldiers and their neighbors—ordinary people drawn into an extraordinary struggle for independence against the most powerful empire in the world.
The program will take place Friday, August 28th at the Historic Dobbin House on Steinwehr Ave in Gettysburg. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m.
Registration is required. The cost is $60 per person for dinner and the program. Program-only tickets are not available. Reserve your tickets here.
