Fall is a beautiful season to stay on the Gettysburg Battlefield. Our property, surrounded by trees, is the ideal place to see the colors turn.
We offer 30 acres of walking trails as well as an elevated wrap around deck to relax on and take in the colors of fall.
Relax in the evenings with a glass of wine around our outdoor fireplace, or build a fire in our fire pit and roast marshmallows with the whole family.
Wake up in the morning with a real-life horse and a pony outside your front door when you book the Tack Room inside the 1820’s era barn. Book a room with its own gas fireplace when you book either the General Merritt’s Suite or Graham’s Artillery rooms inside the 1809 Civil War era farmhouse.
Our location is also ideal for fall fun. Enjoy the Gettysburg National Military Park, stores and restaurants on Steinwher Avenue, and the Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg, all within minutes of the inn.

The Farmhouse was General Merritt’s Headquarters during the cavalry battle here on the South Cavalry field. The Historic Barn Venue was a Civil War Field Hospital. The home belonged to abolitionists Anna and Cornelius Houghtelin, Vice-President of Gettysburg’s Anti-Slavery Society in 1835. The Solarium contains a fireplace designed by Victorian architect Frank Furness, who was a cavalry soldier with Rush’s Lancers, a distinguished unit that fought on this property. The infamous artillerist Lt. Robert James dropped an engraved silver spoon on the grounds. President Eisenhower walked the property. Add your own name to the list of luminaries who have left their mark on Battlefield Bed & Breakfast Inn.
