Camp Eder, a year-round Christian conference and retreat center, sits in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains near Gettysburg and offers a variety of facilities for rent, summer and winter camps for kids from K-12, as well as year-round activities for the whole family.
With its original 155 donated acres and an additional 250 acres purchased in 2001, the conference and retreat center features lodges, cabins, huts, and rustic camping to accommodate large and small groups. Wooded slopes, crackling fires, and fresh mountain air invites guests and attendees to relax, unwind, and thrive in serenity and spirituality. Modern amenities and a variety of options combine to provide an easily customizable experience for any size group at an affordable price.
Children and youth who attend the summer or winter camps have the opportunity to play games, explore the vast terrain of the site, learn culinary skills, enjoy water or snow activities, and meet friends, both old and new. A caring and enthusiastic staff manages week-long schedules of fun, challenging, and enriching programs tailored to various age groups. And no camper is turned away for financial reasons.
Additional events and festivals include Senior Days (held throughout the year) with lunch, crafts, and special guests, Men’s Outdoorsman Day with fishing and a clay shoot, a family-friendly Fall Fest, and an annual Christmas Tree Festival.
Other facility amenities include a meetinghouse, pavilion, ropes course, climbing wall, pool, hiking trails, a lake for canoeing and fishing, and chapel.
