Dirty Billy has been making handmade hats for reenactors, collectors, films, museums and historical sites for more than 50 years.

Dirty Billy makes reproductions dating from 1900 back 400 years. His headwear can be seen in museums too numerous to list, and there is hardly a historic site that doesn’t have at least one Dirty Billy hat, nor reenactor or collector. Customers collect Dirty Billy’s hats for their attention to historic detail and quality.

Dirty Billy’s Hats have been worn by actors including Sam Elliott, Martin Sheen, Russell Crowe, Tom Berenger, Val Kilmer, Patrick Swayze, Kirstie Alley, Robin Wright, Matthew McConaughey, Robert Duvall, Michael Caine, Bill Paxton and Andrew Prine.

You can find Dirty Billy hats in movies that include Titanic, Dances with Wolves, Son of the Morning Star, North & South, Gettysburg, Gods & Generals, Glory, 3:10 to Yuma, The Rough Riders, Tombstone, Free State of Jones, Hell on Wheels, Copper, Ride with the Devil, The Crossing, Ironclads, Secondhand Lions, Mercy Street, The Patriot, Last of the Mohicans, Lincoln, The New World and Turn.

Dirty Billy’s original shop is in Gettysburg, PA, and just celebrated its 20th anniversary. Our modern headwear collection includes the highest quality, best selection and lowest prices you can find anywhere.
