Farnsworth House Presents Sleepy Hollow Ghost Tours & Historical House Tour
Mourning Theater- (60 minutes)- $10 per person plus tax
Descend the stairs of the cellar for this seated presentation beneath one of the most haunted inns in America (where it stays a comfortable 58 degrees for most of the year)! There, your period dressed guide will tell you the long, intriguing history of the Farnsworth House and the many spirits that reside within its walls. Decorated with an antique coffin, vintage photos, church pews and so much more. Who knows what ghostly apparitions you just might meet there, there have been many who have!
East Cemetery Hill Tour- (90 minutes)- $10 per person plus tax
Your tour will include stories in the Garret (attic) of the Historic Farnsworth House, where you will see lit cases of Civil War artifacts/relics. See the window where it is believed the sharpshooter was positioned as he took the fatal shot that ended the life of the only Civilian who died during the battle of Gettysburg, our towns own Jennie Wade. As you journey further up the street, you will learn about and pass actual “witness trees” as you walk a short distance to hear stories just outside the Jennie Wade house and learn more of poor Jennie’s fate on July 3, 1863.
Confederate Hospital Tour-(90 minutes)- $10 per person plus tax
This tour includes time spent inside the very haunted cellar of the Inn, which was used as a makeshift hospital during and after the battle and currently set up as a viewing parlor filled with a coffin, church pews and spooky ambiance! Head North, passing buildings used both by Union and Confederates alike. Not for the faint of heart, you will hear the gruesome truths/tales along the way as your guide describes the gory details of necessary amputations (and more) within the walls of Civil War Hospitals of Gettysburg.
Farnsworth House Combo Tour- (90 minutes)- $10 per person plus tax
Tour the garret of the historic haunted Inn, see the window where it is believed the bullet was fired from that killed Jenny Wade, the only civilian that died during the battle. Perhaps hear the voice of the ghostly child who often speaks to visitors. Descend the stairs down into the cellar set up as a Victorian viewing parlor with a casket and mourning flowers. Sit on the edge of your seat in antique church pews. See the mirror featured on the Travel Channel’s show Kindred Spirits “Haunting in Gettysburg” episode. Time/weather permitting venture out to Camp Tiger which is our own Civil War Encampment and farmstead and into the streets where Civil War soldiers walked over 150 years ago with stories that are sure to give you goose bumps.
Ghost Hunt- (90 minutes)- $15 per person plus tax
Create your own personal ghost story with the official “Ghost Hunt” of the famed Farnsworth House. You will have the opportunity to participate in a REAL paranormal investigation and have access to some of most popular ghost hunting equipment available to use during this tour! The Tour includes: The Garret (attic) of the Farnsworth House, the cellar, and “Camp Tiger” (our very own Farmstead and Civil War Camp).
Historic Farnsworth House Tour– (60 minutes)- Adults- $9.95 +tax; Children 7-12- $5.95 + tax & children 7 & under are free –Tour includes: Cellar, Attic (third floor), main dining room, bed and breakfast, Sweney’s Tavern, Camp Tiger (our own Civil War Encampment and Farmstead).
