Managed by the Gettysburg Area Recreation Authority, the Gettysburg Area Recreation Park offers a wonderful place to play, picnic, and relax.
The Park offers two playgrounds, two basketball courts, a skate park, and bicycle pump track. In addition, the park provides The Biser Fitness Trail and Walking Path which is a mile long paved trail and offers 10 workout stations along the way.
With a variety of fields, the Park is a great place for teams to play. The park has four baseball fields, one softball field, and a football field. Rentals are available for softball, baseball, soccer, and football.
The Park is also home to entertaining events such as A Gettysburg Fourth Fireworks Celebration, Heritage Festival, and Linda Kranius 5K.
Looking for a place to host a reception, reunion, meeting, or cooking demonstration? Look no further than the Gettysburg Area Recreation Park. The Charlie Sterner building offers a conference room, a large assembly room, and kitchen. The Rec Park also has four pavilions and an amphitheater available for rent. All outdoor facilities are equipped with electricity.
For all the dog owners/lovers, the Rec Park is home to two dog parks. One park for small dogs under 30 pounds and a larger dog park for dogs 30 pounds and over. Both parks have seating for owners and a water fountain for dogs.
