The quiet, 24-acre Mont Alto Park is the oldest park still in the Pennsylvania state park system. It can be reached from Caledonia State Park and offers access to many recreational activities at Michaux State Forest like hunting and snowmobile trails. Local mountain roads offer interesting short hikes and a flora that attracts a diversity of wildlife, especially woodland birds. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy your meal in our picnic area, including two picnic pavilions. The West Branch of Antietam Creek flows through the park and offers excellent trout fishing. Whether you’re looking for a family outing or a quiet romantic day spent in nature, Mont Alto State Park is the perfect destination.
