The Gettysburg Battlefield Double Decker Bus Tour delivers an open-air perspective on one of America’s most iconic historic landscapes. Operating seasonally from April through mid-October, this two-hour guided experience departs from the Gettysburg Tour Center at 778 Baltimore Street in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Each tour pairs guests with a licensed battlefield guide who brings the three days of the Battle of Gettysburg to life through detailed, engaging storytelling.
Every guide follows the same historical framework while adding a unique narrative style, which can influence the exact route and featured stops. Each tour includes at least one scenic stop and a restroom break along the way. The upper level of the double decker bus provides open-air views, while the lower level offers large open windows.
Tours run rain or shine, with ponchos available for light rain and enclosed transportation used during severe weather. Free parking is available on-site. Advance booking remains strongly recommended, especially for weekends, holidays, and peak summer dates when tours frequently sell out.
PLEASE NOTE: The 3:00 PM departure (operationg from June 11 – June 30) is a flexible tour, running on either the double decker bus or an enclosed coach depending on weather conditions.
