After the Armies withdrew from Gettysburg the townspeople faced the aftermath of the battle. Tens of thousands of wounded soldiers needed care. Farms were devastated, crops confiscated or destroyed, and the town needed to be rebuild.

Come hear the long-forgotten stories of the townsfolk as they coped with the losses of the Battle of Gettysburg. Many took wounded soldiers into their homes and those soldiers who did not survive needed to be buried.

Listen to how these strong, resilient people rebuilt, replanted, and eventually thrived in a town that would never be the same.

This guided history walking tour runs daily and begins and ends at Unity Park at the corner of Baltimore and Lefever Streets.
