Songs and Stories of a Civil War HospitalThe live performance, Songs and Stories of a Civil War Hospital, shares the authentic history of how Christ Lutheran Church was used as a Civil War hospital during and after the Battle of Gettysburg.

Each performance includes the sharing of first personal accounts from soldiers and nurses about Christ Lutheran hospital, Civil War poetry by Walt Whitman (himself a Civil War nurse), passages from Abraham Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address, and Civil War–era music by well-known local musicians.This program is free and open to the public; goodwill donations are accepted and appreciated.Please note that on ... One Hundred Nights of Taps

“Taps” fills the air every evening for 100 nights at the Pennsylvania Memorial on Hancock Avenue from Memorial Day through Labor Day, courtesy of The Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania and Gettysburg National Military Park.Taps for Veterans, Gettysburg’s Licensed Battlefield Guides, and the Eisenhower National Historic Site co-sponsor this recurring event which features brief interpretive vignettes on nightly changing topics before the echo of the bugle sounds.“Taps” is performed by volunteer buglers from across the country.This program is free and open to the public.PLEASE NOTE :**Through August 31, Taps will be played every Sunday at 6 p.m. at Lincoln Cemetery at ...
