Historian Debra Sandoe McCauslin brings Adams County history to life through her portrayal of Sarah “Sallie” Cook, a birthright Quaker and local teacher. On November 19, 1863, Sarah met Abraham Lincoln at the home of David Wills in Gettysburg. She later listened as the president delivered the Gettysburg Address at the cemetery.

This adult program explores the history of Carroll Valley, from its early roots as Carroll’s Delight to its development as a borough. The presentation also looks at the area’s mountain scenery, orchards, lakes, and local government.
