Yes we have a famous battlefield to tour by car, bicycle, horseback, and even on foot but we boast a wealth of activities beyond those historic acres.
With adventures to suit every budget, Gettysburg and Adams County businesses offer plenty of packages to help visitors create their dream vacations.
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at One Lincoln Food & Spirits located on Lincoln Square. You can guess who both the restaurant and Square were named after. One Lincoln also offers great lunch and dinner menus.
Once you’re fueled up, get ready for a walking tour with the Gettysburg Licensed Town Historians. They offer a special tour, President Abraham Lincoln’s Visit – Gettysburg Address, in which you’ll cover President Lincoln’s 25-hours in Gettysburg. Some of the places you will visit along the tour include the Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad Station, the David Wills House, the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and Soldiers’ National Cemetery – all places visited by Lincoln when he was in town. We recommend going back to the Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad Station where Lincoln arrived in Gettysburg, and to the David Wills House where he stayed the night. Both historic buildings have fascinating museum displays inside.
