Experience Celtic music as never before with this “jubilant, foot-stomping and nostalgic” (Tinnitist) celebration of music. Ruckus fuses the early-music movement’s creative spirit with the grit of American roots music, creating a unique sound of “rough-edged intensity” (The New York Times). Ruckus is joined by Keir GoGwilt, the violinist know as a “formidable performer” (The New York Times) with an “evocative sound” (London Jazz News) and “finger-busting virtuosity” (The San Diego Union Tribune), to breathe new life into this exciting Celtic music. This performance is made possible in part by the Majestic Theater Centennial Endowment Fund.
Grammy Award-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra joins forces with pianist Marc-André Hamelin, who The New York Times called “a performer of near-superhuman technical prowess.” Together, they will perform arrangements for piano and orchestra, including Liszt’s Wanderer Fantasy and Schubert’s Chamber Symphony in B-flat Major (after D. 960).Renowned for their collaborative spirit, the internationally acclaimed Orpheus Chamber Orchestra has played without a conductor since their inception, performing with “edge-of-the-seat intensity” and displaying an “infectious love for making music” (The New York Times) for audiences around the world. This performance is made possible in part by the Majestic Theater Centennial Endowment Fund.
