FunFest is a free event that celebrates the kick-off into SummerQuest, the Adams County Library’s summer learning program. In 2026 for the celebration of America’s 250th birthday, FunFest’s theme “Unearth a Story” encourages families to discover their own personal and historical narratives.
Over 50 organizations provide hands-on activities for a fun-filled, community-building afternoon that highlights local stories and spirit through crafts, games, and educational engagement.

The Historic Daniel Lady Farm and the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association invite guests to experience the Civil War Reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg on its 163rd Anniversary. This event features 1,000 reenactors and tens of thousands of spectators and the opportunity to engage with Living Historians demonstrating various ways that life was lived during the Civil War years.
